2nd Annual Belmont Plant Sale – Coming this Spring

It’s never too early to think about your garden! Belmont’s Sustainability classes will be holding their annual Plant Sale on Wednesday, April 16th. Last year was small, but a great success, so this year we are throwing open the doors to the whole Belmont Family!

We will be selling primarily native perennials (lots of 1-2 yr Camas bulbs!) and early season salad greens such as lettuce, kale, and spinach. The Pottery class will also be selling ceramics to add that extra Fancy touch to your garden!

Sale will be during last block and after school. Keep your eyes peeled for more information and posters around the school closer to the date!

Free adult “English Corner” classes to practice communicating in English, make new friends, and find opportunities to contribute to the wellbeing of the community. Located at the Greater Victoria Public Library’s Juan de Fuca Branch. Please see the attached poster for more details and to register.

RCMP Basketball Tournament

Belmont co-hosted our annual Senior Girls Mountie Cup, put on by the Westshore RCMP. The RCMP hosted an assembly, featuring inspirational and informative videos, speeches from our local RCMP and a introduction to two very cute new additions to the canine force! Our very own Mr. McHugh was even brave enough to face one of the older canines! The RCMP had a wonderful display for students, staff and basketball players to get more information about our local Westshore RCMP, including games, Q&A, and demos! Our senior girls played at home in front of an incredible crowd, to start the tournament!
